Belgian Owl New Make

Belgian Owl New Make (also marketed as Origine) is the unaged spirit that serves as the foundation for the distillery's award-winning single malt whiskies. It is a 100% Belgian distillate crafted from sustainable barley grown in the Hesbaye region. 

• ABV: 46% vol.
• Volume: Typically sold in 50cl (500ml) bottles.
• Age: 0 months (unaged).
• Distillation: Produced using traditional copper pot stills originally from the Caperdonich distillery in Scotland. 

The New Make is intended to showcase the raw purity of the malt and the local terroir before barrel maturation begins. 

• Nose: Prominent aromas of malt, freshly baked bread, and shortbread, followed by fruity notes of ripe pear, greengage (plum), and cider.
• Palate: A sweet and notably oily texture with emerging orchard fruit flavors.
• Finish: Described as clean and crisp with a "gristy" sweetness; it received a high score of 92/100 from Jim Murray in the Whisky Bible 2020
